Predictive Control Strategy for Continuous Production Systems: A Comparative Study with Classical Control Approaches Using Simulation-Based Analysis

Due to today’s technological development and information progress, an increasing number of physical systems have become interconnected linked together through communication networks, thus resulting in Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs). Continuous manufacturing, which involves the manufacture products without interruption, has increasingly important many industries, including pharmaceutical chemical industries. CPSs can be used control monitor production process, is essential enabling continuous manufacturing. This paper focused on modeling required tablet using dry granulation. Tablets are a type oral dosage form that commonly industry. They solid, compressed forms medication formulated release active ingredients manner allows for optimal absorption efficacy. Thus, model predictive (MPC) strategy applied plant test designed controller analyze obtained performances. The simulation results compared with those other algorithms, linear quadratic regulator (LQR) proportional-integral-derivative (PID), same model. showed performed significantly better than two strategies.
